Here is the text of the Presidential proclamation issuing the new Pledge of Allegiance:
I, Donald Trump, the greatest President in the history of the United States, the greatest leader in the history of the world, and the greatest human being in the history of mankind, recognize that the current Pledge of Allegiance represents outmoded value. I therefore issue the following new Pledge of Allegiance which is to be recited at the beginning of the school day in all schools, and at the beginning of all public meetings, sporting events, and other public gatherings:
“I pledge allegiance to the dollar, and to the republic which it rules, one nation, under money, with tyranny and injustice for all.”
Donald Trump yesterday demonstrated that he, and we as a nation as long as he is in the White House, have no values or principles other than money. There have been other shameful moments in the history of the Presidency, but none have even approached in their shamefulness Trump’s position on Saudi Arabia and the vicious, brutal murder of a permanent resident of the United States and the father of American citizen children.
And yes, the above “Presidential Proclamation” is snark. As long as Trump is our so-called President, the difference between snark and reality isn’t always clear.
